Historical Background

"A rare combination: authentic history and fun entertainment on the stage."

--Gabor Boritt, Director, Civil War Institute, Gettysburg College; author of The Lincoln Enigma and The Gettysburg Nobody Knows

"It was a feast for the eyes and the ears. The entire scope and emotions of the Civil War were brilliantly brought to the stage by the multitalented cast and crew. Jack Kyrieleison's script was absolutely brilliant. His research was obviously thorough, and he took great pains, obviously, in keeping the book historically accurate, while at the same time entertaining—an almost impossible feat I have seldom seen executed. Every element came together seamlessly. You don’t need armies on stage to make the Civil War tug at your heartstrings. REUNION does it with just six actors, amazing as it seems!"

Co-founder, The Lincoln Group of New York

THE MUSIC

The 26 songs in Reunion—all from the Civil War or earlier—tell the human stories of the struggle within the North for the soul of the war.

All have new arrangements by musical supervisor Michael O'Flaherty. Many of the songs are rarely heard and will be new to most ears. Those that are more familiar have been given unique treatments. And a couple of songs written in the South are included, because they were as popular in the North as they were in the South.
